Introduction to Mindful Running

Our online workshop will introduce you to the essential building blocks of mindful running.

Mindful running foundation
To run with mindfulness requires that we establish and maintain a foundation based on good posture, relaxation and body awareness, which has the added benefit of injury prevention.

Mindful running focus
We will also explore how to apply a specific focus as a way to train our mind as well as our body while running.

The Introduction to Mindful Running workshop is suitable for experienced runners and those just starting out. The workshop will support you to run with more enjoyment and awareness and find greater all-round wellbeing through:

- Exploring our intention and motivation for running
- Learning how to move from autopilot to awareness
Becoming familiar with using an anchor point
Understanding the value of being alert but relaxed
Learning how to pause

Workshop format

The Introduction to Mindful Running workshop will explore the core principles of the RUN:ZEN mindful running foundation and focus, through:

  • guided mindfulness meditations
  • a 30-minute mindful run
  • small group discussion for those who would like to share their experience

The individual practices range from five to thirty minutes and anything in between. This allows elements to be delivered in a balanced, integrated and bite-sized way, and is suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.

Stuart McLeod.

How does the run work if the workshop is online?

Midway through the workshop, participants will be given guidance for a 30 minute self-led run, including how to apply a focus for mindful running and the S.T.O.P practice, before rejoining the online session.

How fit do I need to be?

For our online events, all levels of running ability can be supported. While the run practice will last up to 30 minutes, running with walking is fine.
PLEASE NOTE: It is important that everyone participating in the workshop follows their Government's guidelines on physical distancing when running.

Step 1: Register

The Introduction to Mindful Running workshop will be hosted on Zoom.

Places are limited so register now to reserve your place.

Step 2: Payment

The full cost for the workshop is £40 or we can offer a supported fee of £20 for those on low or reduced income. It is also just £20 if you have attended one of our workshops before. However, we would like everyone to benefit from the support they need without having any concerns about finances, so get in touch if you need to. Once your payment has been received, we will send you the joining instructions.
